An acquisition of Boulaye Dia by the Wolves in January may not take place, according to Salernitana Iervolino’s president.
Famously, Wanderers made a last-minute move to sign the Senegal international.
Wolves turned to the 26-year-old after failing to land Che Adams.
However, Salernitana did not find the plan to be acceptable.
Their sporting director Morgan De Sanctis publicly criticized the club, showing how unappreciated they were of it.
Tensions arose on the Salernitana side as a result of the wolves’ tardy approach.
Salernitana president Iervolino says Wolves star Boulaye Dia will stay
There have been suggestions that Wolves could come knocking for Dia in January.
This season, Wanderers have improved in the final third.
But one could argue that the team still lacks a reliable finisher.
Despite all of the excellent work Matheus Cunha provides for the club, he lacks finishing ability.
However, it seems doubtful that Dia will relocate in January.
Chances to sign Dia may have been wrecked by Wolves.
Iervolino’s quotation is quite potent.
One does question if Wolves’ prospects of acquiring the player in January may have been hurt.
Salernitana had nothing good to say about Wolves’ behavior on the day of the deadline.
