The Football League have released the Championship Team of the Week following Leeds United’s superb 3-0 win over Millwall – and Illan Meslier, Georginio Rutter and Joel Piroe have been included.
It was by far our best result and performance of the season. Aside from a couple of short spells in which Millwall looked like they might score, and a couple of shaky moments – Leeds dominated the game.
Piroe opened the scoring after a wonderful Leeds break, Rutter assist. The latter was involved in the second, as Piroe tapped home. Then, the Frenchman got a goal of his own. His best in a Leeds shirt.

All three Leeds players were included in the Team of the Week, alongside Sunderland’s Jack Clarke – who scored his third goal of the season away at QPR in a 3-1 win. Things are starting to look good.
Well deserved. Notable mentions also go to the midfield pairing of Archie Gray and Ethan Ampadu – the latter winning Man of the Match award. Joe Rodon was sensational at the back, Sam Byram on the left.
A stunning performance in a ground where Leeds have notoriously struggled over the years. A win that takes Leeds to tenth in the Championship table. Now, they have to follow it up against Hull tonight.
A busy run of games that if Leeds can come away with seven or more points – with Watford at Elland Road on Saturday – things instantly start to look very promising. Big display away from home tonight.
