An abrupt end is approaching for a former starting safety for the Dallas Cowboys as they recover from a difficult defeat. Following his time with the Cowboys, Damontae Kazee joined the Pittsburgh Steelers; however, given his NFL suspension, he may be on the lookout for a new team once more.
The league office declared on December 18 that Kazee would be suspended following a hit on Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. on December 16. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the league cites “repeated violations” as justification for breaking rules.
This season, Kazee has made 14 appearances for the Steelers, nine of which have been starts. Although he was almost finished with his second season in Pittsburgh, he will now play without pay for the rest of the campaign.
Even though Kazee had to deal with off-field problems while playing for the Cowboys, this is his first suspension ever. Kazee, who is thirty years old, is currently in the first year of a two-year contract with Pittsburgh, but the second year of the agreement only offers a $875,000 guarantee.
