Just Now: Italian Media Accuses Inter Milan Of smugness and Last Season’s Issues Resurface…..

A report in the Italian media claims Inter Milan were complacent during the 1-2 defeat at the hands of Sassuolo.

The Nerazzurri were aiming to win their first eight Serie A fixtures and head to the international break on top of the league standings.

However, their flawless run stopped at five, as their Emilian visitors escaped with a victory in the sixth round of the season.

Denzel Dumfries opened the scoring for Simone Inzaghi’s men at the end of the first half. Nevertheless, the Neroverdi turned the result upside-down with two goals in the first 15 minutes of the second period.

Therefore, La Gazzetta dello Sport (via FcInterNews) accuses Inter of being too complacent while hosting Sassuolo.

The source claims that the Nerazzurri felt that their technical and physical superiority would simply win them the match.

The report says this may have worked over the weekend in Empol. However, the brilliant skills of Domenico Berardi and company stunned the league leaders.

The Pink newspaper also describes the Beneamata as “distracted and full of themselves”.

Italian Media Brands Inter Milan As Complacent Following Their 1-2 Defeat Vs Sassuolo

The report suggests that this defeat has now evoked memories from last season. Inter lost 12 matches in Serie A last term, with several of those defeats coming against lowly opposition.

The source concludes that one defeat in six rounds might be acceptable, but warns against underestimating the negative signs witnessed on Wednesday.
