JUST NOW: Klopp hails ‘machine’ new Liverpool signing

Wataru Endo has become Liverpool’s third signing of the summer.

The Japan captain moves to Anfield on a four-year contract from Stuttgart in a deal worth £16.2 million as Jurgen Klopp’s side aim to fill their midfield void.

Endo emerged as the Reds’ primary target after missing out on both Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia to Premier League rivals Chelsea this summer.

And Klopp was quick to praise the 30-year-old, who will wear the no.3 shirt following Fabinho’s move to Saudi Pro Club outfit Al Ittihad last month.

He said: “I’m really happy. Wataru is a really good player.

“I know in this world of football how it goes and stuff like this, but have a look, have a look, because he’s a really good player.

“An experienced player, captain of Stuttgart, captain of Japan, speaks good English, nice fella, family man, machine on the pitch, good footballer on top of that, sensational attitude.

“So I’m really happy. He’s a good footballer, very experienced and loves to work extremely hard
