Liverpool will now reportedly need a miracle to happen if they want to sign Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni this summer.
According to the Daily Mail’s Lewis Steele, the Reds have little hope of landing the French international this summer, with Madrid unlikely to sell Tchouameni barring an incredible situation.
Steele said: “There is long-standing interest in Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, who would solve many problems in the defensive midfield position, but that will not happen this summer barring any late miracles
Liverpool have been linked with the 23-year-old for the best part of Monaco.18 months, with Madrid beating the Anfield side to the midfielder last summer
However, fast-forward to now and Liverpool remain interested in Tchouameni, even with Madrid unwilling to sell the French international this summer despite signing Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund.
Whilst Tchouameni would be a dream signing for Liverpool, the midfielder is unlikely to join the Reds given how much the Anfield side will have to put up to persuade Madrid to part with the 23-year-old sensation
Liverpool could go back in for Tchouameni in 2024
Tchouameni has been linked with Liverpool for what feels like forever, and this summer again looks like it will be another window where the Reds miss out on the midfielder.
However, depending on what happens next season, there’s a chance that the Reds could have a realistic chance at signing Tchouameni, if the midfielder is still struggling for minutes at Madrid.
The player himself might be keen on a move to Liverpool given how insistent they have been on signing Tchouameni, and a deal could be on the cards in 2024 if the finances all line up
