Tyler Herro’s name surfaced often when the Miami Heat were negotiating with the Trail Blazers in their failed attempt to acquire Damian Lillard during the summer.

The Blazers reportedly weren’t interested in any package that included Herro and he remains with the Heat. Based on his comments Monday, Herro must have heard about the Blazers’ reported disinterest. When asked about the Blazers, Herro was blunt

Herro may not be “worried” about the Blazers, but it’s highly likely he has circled the dates when the Heat face the Blazers during the upcoming season. The first game occurs on Feb. 27 in Portland, and the second is scheduled for March 29 in Miami.

“I’m ready to play the best,” Herro told radio station 106.3 ESPN in West Palm Beach. “Portland ain’t the best so I’m not worried about Portland.”
