As one NBA executive recently pointed out, the Los Angeles Lakers may be involved in some trade rumors, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re eager to make any deals.
The executive told Heavy Sports, “Look, they have some guys they can move and some holes they can fill. You’re always going to get Lakers trade rumors.” However, that applies to everyone. They seem to be viewing it as though they still don’t know who they are and that the roster already contains all the necessary pieces. It has to do with health. When everyone is healthy, you don’t want to make a trade to fix something that will be fixed in a few weeks
The San Antonio Spurs have just handed Los Angeles what may have been its worst loss of the 2023–24 regular season thus far. The Spurs, who were on an 18-game losing streak coming into the game, defeated the Lakers on Friday by the final score of 129-115.
Part of the reason the Spurs ended their losing streak was because of wing Devin Vassell’s outstanding scoring performance.
Vassell scored a game-high 36 points, shooting 12-of-19 from the field and 5-of-10 from beyond the 3-point line. Vassell, who has played in 19 games with the Spurs this regular season, is averaging 18.5 points per game. In addition, he ended with three assists, one steal, one block, and six rebounds.
