Rangers have presented a four-year offer to Phillipe Clement to take over the vacant manager role at Ibrox, with the Belgian boss set to make his decision in the next 24 hours, according to Al-Riyadiah.
The Saudi Arabian news publication shared on 10 October that the club are set to present the full offer to Clement in the next few hours during a face-to-face meeting.
It is also reported that the contract will include bonuses if Rangers win the league, the Scottish Cup, the League Cup, or qualify for the Champions League.
Rangers have moved quickly to get this deal over the line. If the report is true, Clement must have impressed during the interview which reportedly took place on Monday, and now stands out as the clear favourite to take over from Michael Beale.
The club’s haste in making their move for Clement may have been a result of, having identified him as their main man for the job, making sure they beat Saudi Arabian club Al-Shabab to his signature.
The Al-Riyadiah report also claims that the Belgian boss had made a secret visit to the Saudi club in the last few days to inspect their training facilities and met with the management ahead of a possible move to the club, with a contract already on the table there.
It has, however, been reported by the Daily Record [10 October] that Clement is “desperate” to make the move to Ibrox, despite the bumper deal of the table from Al-Shabab, as he would prefer to make his return to management in Glasgow.
