Sepp Kuss Returns to Action at 2025 Clásica Jaén.
Sepp Kuss, the 2023 Vuelta a España champion, made his 2025 season debut at the Clásica Jaén Paraíso Interior on February 17. The American cyclist from Team Visma | Lease a Bike expressed enthusiasm ahead of the race, noting its challenging nature with 31 kilometers of off-road sections and over 2,900 meters of climbing. He described the event as “a race for everybody,” highlighting its unpredictability and technical demands.
The 169-kilometer route, starting and ending in Úbeda, featured new olive grove paths and a total elevation gain of 2,600 meters, making it more tactical and demanding than previous editions. Despite his efforts, Kuss finished 40th, six minutes behind the winner, Michał Kwiatkowski of Ineos Grenadiers.
Kuss’s participation in the Clásica Jaén marks the beginning of a season where he aims to support his teammates in major races like the Tour de France and La Vuelta, while also seeking personal successes. His return to competition is a positive indicator of his form as he embarks on the 2025 cycling season.
