Negotiations over a deal for Nino are reportedly nearing completion between Nottingham Forest and Nino. After helping Fluminense win the Copa Libertadores earlier this month, the defender is scheduled to depart from the team.
Many teams are vying for the 26-year-old’s signature. But only Forest has made a move from the Premier League, and they are supposedly the ones closest to finalizing a deal.
This season, Nino has made over 50 appearances for Fluminense, demonstrating his value as a key member of the squad. After a confrontation with Gabriel Barbosa during a derby-day match over the weekend, Nino was dismissed.
The closest team to sign Nino is Forest.
It has long been known that Forest is eager to finalize a contract in order to acquire Nino. Rumor has it that the defender will cost approximately £6 million, and he was recently called up to the Brazil team.
Now, according to Esporte, Forest are in the final stages of tying up a deal for Nino ahead of other clubs. Besiktas are very keen to take him, whilst Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Shabab have also expressed interest.
Forest could be in the market for another central defender. Although they look well-stocked right now, in the last few days Scott McKenna has been linked with Fenerbahce, whilst Felipe has been linked with Olympiacos.
Forest needs to close this deal.
There have been rumors for a while now that Forest wants to add a new defender. Since moving from Corinthians for £11 million, Murillo has had an impact, and it’s obvious that the South American market is producing some real gems.
Nino might be a steal for Forest at £6 million. He is a defender who is still developing, so the club could profit significantly from him if he performed well on Trentside.
