The 40-year-old quarterback, who was listed as a limited participant after missing practice on Wednesday, “pushed it a little bit,” according to coach Robert Saleh on Friday.

Saleh said that during practice, Rodgers, who was injured four snaps into his team debut on September 11, ran some bootleg plays, took some snaps under center, and jogged.

“I think he looks normal,” Saleh chuckled. It’s astounding. He deserves credit for trying to rebuild his life, especially in this day and age when a hangnail can ruin a game week. All it does is demonstrate his concern. I do think highly of him.

Rodgers has taken part in both solo and seven-on-seven drills. The four-time NFL MVP must now take part in 11-on-11 drills, though it’s unclear when those will take place.

On November 29, the Jets granted Rodgers permission to participate in certain football activities but not in contact, and he began a 21-day practice window. The Jets have until next Wednesday to decide whether to activate Rodgers from injured reserve or put him on inactive reserve for the remainder of the season.

When the Jets host Washington on December 24, Rodgers plans to return to action. He has stated that in order for him to feel comfortable protecting himself on the field, the Jets must continue to compete for a postseason spot, and physicians must
