JUST NOW: The CEO and Chairman have made it clear that the Rangers’ summer signings are risky, despite their claims about the player transfer system.

Rangers’ performances under Philippe Clement haven’t been perfect, but they have improved over Michael Beale’s tenure.

In October, the former took over the latter’s position in the Rangers dugout, with a brief interim period filled by midfield guru Steven Davis.

The last manager to oversee a transfer window at the club was, therefore, Beale, with the boss bringing in nine players to Ibrox in the summer.

And while some have impressed, such as goalkeeper Jack Butland and loan attacker Abdallah Sima, others certainly haven’t.

That is particularly true of the likes of Sam Lammers and Cyriel Dessers, with the attacking duo failing to hit the heights expected of them so far at Ibrox. Dujon Sterling and Kieran Dowell meanwhile have barely featured since their moves to Glasgow in the summer.

And now their future at the Scottish club is under threat after comments made by Nils Koppen upon his appointment as Director of Football Recruitment on Friday (1 November).

The Chairman and CEO have both been clear in recent times our player trading model has to function better and on a more regular basis

“I look forward to working with the scouting team already here at the club to ensure we reach our goals in the coming years.”

The latter comment will certainly excite fans given how new players could arrive at Ibrox shortly, but the former comment may just worry the current group.
