In case you missed it, Markkanen won his first All-Star selection the previous season. In the 2023–24 campaign, he leads Utah in scoring at 23.7 points per game, adding 8.6 rebounds and 1.1 steals to his stat sheet.
On December 15, Yahoo Sports’ Jake Fischer revealed that the Jazz had reconsidered their earlier belief that Markkanen was untradable. The Miami Heat were then mentioned by Bleacher Report’s Dan Favale as a “realistic” landing spot for the Finnish player in the event that the Jazz made the decision to acquire him.
