Just a few weeks before the start of training camp, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison was arrested.
The Vikings released a statement on Sunday addressing the situation, stating, “We are aware of Jordan Addison’s arrest this past Friday and are currently gathering more information regarding the incident.”
Kevin Seifert of ESPN provided more details on the incident near Los Angeles International Airport.
This is the second time in the last two years that Addison has faced legal trouble. In July 2023 just before his first training camp with the Vikings, he was cited for speed and reckless driving after an officer clocked him at 140 mph on a freeway just outside of St. Paul, Minnesota. He told the officer that he was driving fast because of a medical emergency with his dog. He pleaded guilty to a petty misdemeanor speeding charge and paid $686 in fines and fees.
Addison was the 23rd overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft. The 22-year-old appeared in all 17 games for the Vikings last season and recorded 70 catches for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns.
The Vikings will begin training camp on July 27. Minnesota is looking to bounce back from a 7-10 finish to the 2023 season.
