‘According to Football Insider, Leeds United will be paid an instalment of more than £20 million by Barcelona this season as part of Raphinha’s transfer cost.
The Yorkshire club sold the 26-year-old Brazilian winger in the summer transfer window of 2022, which was 15 months ago.
The Spanish giants agreed to a fee of £55 million with Leeds for Raphinha’s signature.
However, according to the structure of the agreement, the Catalan side amortised the amount over a number of years.
Leeds are expected to receive a £21 million payment before the start of the January transfer window.
The eight-figure sum is still not Raphinha’s final payment from Barcelona, which means Leeds can expect more payments in the future.

The La Liga club has battled financially in recent years, with a projected debt of more than £1 billion before the start of the 2022/23 season.
The cash investment will significantly enhance Elland Road’s finances for future transfer windows.
Leeds CEO Angus Kinnear recently claimed that funds are available for manager Daniel Farke to buy new players and upgrade the club’s first-team roster in January.
Leeds, on the other hand, may utilize the cash injection to pay off their own debts, with their 2021/22 records revealing that they owed £104 million in transfer fees.
