The Rangers boss decided to take the midfielder off at break in the Viaplay Cup semi-final with Hearts with the score sitting level at 0-0. His replacement Scott Wright came into the game and sparked real life into the Hampden occasion by having a major impact. James Tavernier got the scoring under way after firing beyond Zander Clark from the penalty spot after he fouled Danilo in the box. Moments later Wright’s excellent low drive finish doubled the advantage of the Light Blues before his run forced a foul on the edge of the box with the skipper curling home a stunning free-kick for a third goal in the space of 14 minutes. Hearts got a consolation through Lawrence Shankland but it is the men from Govan who face Aberdeen in the final.
