TIKI TAKA CONFIRMED MALEFO’S MOVE TO KAIZER CHIEFS IN MARCH

Tika Taka released the following statement:

“We are happy to announce that Kamogelo Malefo has officially joined the Kaizer Chiefs Under 19 Development. Kamogelo showcased his exceptional skills and talent during the assessment process, standing out as a true standout among his peers. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the management team at Kaizer Chiefs for recognising Stumbo’s potential and providing him with this remarkable chance to shine on the field. Your belief in his abilities means the world to us

Chiefs’ newest youth recruit bagged 16 goals and supplied 18 assists in 18 games last season. The 18-year-old joins the club’s U19 structures. The step up to senior football is a steep one but this is a name we’ll be watching in the months and years to come. Also, with the Chiefs wage bill as lopsided as it is, moving for more youth products could be a prudent business strategy. For example, Keagan Dolly earns R1.4m a month and Itumeleng Khune is bagging roughly R480,000 monthly. On the subject of Khune, it’s still unclear where the 36-year-old veteran goalkeeper will be playing his football next season.
