Kaizer Chiefs have made contact with a coach many of the club’s fans have been calling for however there’s no deal in place yet!
Kaizer Chiefs have opened talks with former Petro de Luanda coach Alexandre Santos.
Santos opted against extending his contract with the Angolan giants last month, after spending three years at the club.
The 47-year-old Portuguese mentor has since emerged as a top candidate for the Kaizer Chiefs head coach position.
Santos previously held assistant coaching positions at the likes of FC Porto, Al Ahly and SC Braga.
And now, the coach himself has confirmed direct contact with the Soweto giants however an offer is not yet on the table!
PORTUGUESE COACH CONFIRMS TALKS WITH KAIZER CHIEFS
“They [Kaizer Chiefs] talked with me but we don’t have any deal,” – Alexandre Santos told Soccer Laduma.
The Portuguese coach won six trophies in three years at Petro de Luanda, including three league titles.
The Glamour of are expected to take a final decision on their new head coach in the coming days. Tunisia’s Nasreddine Nabi is reportedly another name at the top of the Motaung’s list.
In other news, one of the players on Kaizer Chiefs’ first team may be getting a contract extension!
Despite having a challenging season at Naturena, Siyethemba Sithebe appears to be getting another opportunity to establish himself with the team!
This season, Sithebe only made 11 appearances for the team. He was unable to find the back of the net for the team and did not record an assist.
Many thought his time at Kaizer Chiefs was over when he descended the hierarchy. But the most recent reports indicate otherwise!
