Your Los Angeles Lakers have been searching for a third star to pair alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis since the duo got together. It’s just how the organization is wired, and they continue to look across the league for any chance to make it happen. Some names have come in recent years, but no deal has been made, in part due to the Lakers’ lack of potential trade assets. But the team could be gearing up for a big deal this summer, depending on how they play the upcoming trade deadline. One name that has continuously been connected with the Lakers is Atlanta Hawks All-Star guard Trae Young. Young would give the Lakers a true star to work around both in the present and the future.

NBA analyst Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer believes that Young would welcome a trade to join the Lakers at any time. “Trae Young would likely welcome a trade to Los Angeles at any time.” Per Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer Young is box office material, and fans would love to see him playing in the purple and gold. He would give them their best three-point shooter in a long time and is a true star player. If the Lakers were to make the move for Young, it would be with the post-James era in mind. He could pair alongside Davis for the foreseeable future, giving Los Angeles a strong duo to build around. The pick-and-roll game between Young and Davis would be electric, and the offense would likely work well. Young is great at dishing out assists to his teammates also, giving the Lakers a true game-changer to run the offense, It remains to be seen if the Hawks will move Young, but there has been plenty of talk about it. With Atlanta not playing well once again this season, the likelihood of a Young trade only increases.
