Deal agreed: Liverpool second bid to sign Southampton star finally agreed..

Liverpool are reportedly preparing to make a second bid for Romeo Lavia, with the Reds having an opening offer of £38m rejected by Southampton last week.

According to the Times, the Anfield side will make a new offer for the Belgian international after being shot down by the Saints in the last few days, with Liverpool keen on signing Lavia before the start of the season.

The sales of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho have granted Liverpool the chance to sign the 19-year-old talent, who is expected to be Jurgen Klopp’s third and potentially final midfield addition of the summer.

Praised by Total Football Analysis as a ‘phenomenal’ player, Lavia’s future could be wrapped up this week with Liverpool making a renewed attempt to sign the midfielder, who is keen on a move to Anfield.

Indeed, the Southampton star has the potential to become a world-class operator for the Reds with the right training and development, and this latest bid could help Liverpool secure Lavia’s signature.

Having a first bid rejected by Southampton was perhaps no real surprise for Liverpool, which is why the Reds have to ensure they land Lavia this time around with their second offer.

The midfielder is clearly the standout candidate to replace Fabinho in this new era for Klopp and Liverpool, and the Anfield side have to make a convincing enough offer to Southampton to acquire the Belgian’s services.

As we know, time is running out between now and the new season, and the sooner Lavia is signed, the better Liverpool’s chances are of getting off to a good start in the Premier League.
