Media Digest: Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has reportedly come to an agreement with Al Ittihad while a Bundesliga side is anticipating a $38m transfer offer.
Welcome to the Liverpool.com daily Media Digest. From transfers to tweets, it can be hard to keep up with everything going on in the Anfield sphere. Credible, incredible and anything in between: we round it all up in one place here, taking a sideways look at the day’s media goings-on from around the world.
Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach is ‘expecting’ Liverpool to make a bid for midfielder Manu Koné before the transfer deadline, according to BILD’s Christian Falk, writing in his Daily Briefing. Koné is now back from injury and could be available for a relatively cheap sum.

“There’s also Manu Koné to consider (for Liverpool),” Falk wrote. “I heard Gladbach is also expecting an offer from Liverpool soon because, after his injury, he’s become cheaper.
“Before a suitor would have to pay about $54m (£43m/€50m); now you can get him, perhaps, for about $38m (£30m/€35m). So it’s up to Liverpool to make the next move. PSG are still interested in Koné, so there could be a big competition for the player if Liverpool firmly enter the race.
Wataru Endō was signed from Stuttgart last week but getting another player over the line for the center of the pitch would be no bad thing, as long as it doesn’t get in the way of a future signing of a player who Liverpool really wants (i.e. the next Moisés Caicedo).
Mohamed Salah to Saudi Arabia latest
Italian journalist Rudy Galetti has claimed that Mohamed Salah would be open to signing for Saudi Arabian side Al Ittihad but the final decision will come down to whether Liverpool decides to cash in — with the Reds having no intention of doing so.
.
Television channel beIN Sports (via Al Jazeera) reported earlier in the week that Salah has agreed a wage package with the Saudi Arabian outfit but the final decision will be Liverpool’s. At this point in the summer, losing Salah would be unthinkable.
It makes sense that a huge salary would be on the table for one of the biggest and most marketable players in the world. Neymar has made the move to Saudi Arabia but Salah would top even that.
But for the player to choose money over staying in the best and most competitive league in the world would be a disappointment. For Liverpool, the sooner a switch can be categorically ruled out from Salah’s side, the better.
