LeBron James and OG Anunoby of the 76ers have hinted to a potential free agent contract.

Potential free agents like LeBron James and OG Anunoby are being considered by the Philadelphia 76ers, according to NBA source Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer.

LeBron and Anunoby can become unrestricted free agents this summer if they decline their 2024-25 player options.

Paul George, who is anticipated to reject his player option with the Los Angeles Clippers in 2024–2025 and enter free agency, will be actively pursued by the Sixers.

This offseason, LeBron and Anunoby are also expected to become free agents.

“In the event that they don’t acquire George, the Sixers are keeping an eye on other impact players with high salaries,” Pompey wrote. “For this reason, they are also considering free agents like LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers and OG Anunoby of the New York Knicks.”

LeBron averaged 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 8.3 assists for the Los Angeles Lakers this season while shooting 75.0% from the free-throw line, 41.0% from beyond the arc, and 54.0% from the field. Before signing with the Lakers, the NBA great had a meeting with the Sixers in the summer of 2018.

Anunoby was acquired by the New York Knicks from the Toronto Raptors in December. In 23 games with the Knicks, Anunoby averaged 14.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.5 assists while shooting 48.8% from the field, 39.4% from 3-point range, and 79.1% from the foul line.

In six games, the Sixers were defeated by the Knicks in the opening round of the playoffs this year. During the Joel Embiid era, the team has never made it past the second round of the playoffs.
