The Los Angeles Lakers did not make a move at the NBA trade deadline; they start today’s NBA games in ninth place in the Western Conference rankings. However, it’s not like the front office did not make an effort to enhance the LeBron James-centered roster.

James supposedly would have supported the addition of a couple of elite guards, even though the Lakers chose not to add any new players.
LeBron James have welcomed Zach LaVine trade or Dejounte Murray
The Athletic reports that LeBron James had two other trade targets in mind before the NBA’s deadline on February 8th. James’ desire to play with another dynamic ballhandling playmaker had drawn him into potential trades for Damian Lillard and Kyrie Irving, only to end up with Russell Westbrook and D’Angelo Russell.
James would have enjoyed playing with a lot of players, but according to reports, the Lakers captain would have been in favor of a trade for Dejounte Murray or Zach LaVine this season.
It seemed that the Bulls were not only willing to trade the two-time All-Star, but also eager to do so before LaVine underwent surgery that ended his season. Murray was also strongly linked to trade rumors, but the Hawks, like the Lakers and Bulls, decided against making any significant trades at the deadline.
