bbc news: Leeds have reach final agreement to signed Kenny McLean as they improved there bid

Leeds won’t have too many regrets at all in how they handled the summer window, given the hand the 49ers and Daniel Farke were dealt after relegation.

The signings that they made have seriously improved Leeds’ chances of being in with a shout of automatic promotion this season. Leeds have signed Kenny McLean?

The Athletic’s Phil Hay revealed this week that Leeds’ attempts to strengthen in midfield saw Farke go in search of another reunion from his Norwich City days, having already signed Sam Byram on a free.

He turned to midfielder Kenny McLean, with Hay revealing this on why the deal didn’t materialise:

“There was also a willingness on United’s part to let Farke return to old favourites. He went back to Norwich City for defender Max Aarons, albeit with frustrating results, and took Sam Byram on a free transfer after his release from Carrow Road despite reservations at Elland Road about Byram’s injury record.

“He would have signed midfielder Kenny McLean, too, had Norwich not refused to entertain a sale.”
