Nat Phillips has been tipped to be one of many departures from Anfield this summer, with the Liverpool defender a long way down the pecking order. The 26-year-old has been linked with a host of clubs, with Leeds United among the sides credited with an interest.
Now, Italian journalist Rudy Galetti claims the Whites are in ‘advanced talks’ over a prospective £10 million deal for Phillips. The centre-back has reportedly been identified as an ideal replacement for Max Wober, who has left on loan for Borussia Monchengladbach.
Phillips would become the third signing of the summer for the Whites, following on from the arrivals of Ethan Ampadu and Karl Darlow.
Moving on to potential departures, Tyler Adams is among a number of first-team stars who could yet still be on the move before the September 1 deadline. The USA international impressed in his debut Premier League season despite the team’s struggles, although the midfielder currently remains sidelined with a long-term hamstring complaint
However, this injury has seemingly not deterred Chelsea from considering a move despite their ongoing interest in Brighton star Moises Caicedo. That is according to the MailOnline, who claim the Blues are ‘ramping up their pursuit’ of Adams and are prepared to trigger his £20m relegation release clause.
The 24-year-old – who joined from RB Leipzig last summer – is not said to be keen on the prospect of a season in the Championship. Aston Villa continue to be linked, but Adams’ preference is said to be a switch to Stamford Bridge.
