JUST IN: manager Daniel Farke has praised Whites forward Georginio Rutter following his winner away at Leicester City.

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has praised Whites forward Georginio Rutter following his winner away at Leicester City.

The 21-year-old Leeds ace was on hand to slam home in Friday’s Championship clash after Mads Hermansen palmed Sam Byram’s header into the Frenchman’s path.

Rutter also pressed well and contributed defensively too, looking good overall despite the tough opposition on the night.

Crucially, the goal ended Rutter’s goal drought. His last strike prior to Friday night’s effort was in September.

Although the Leeds ace has registered a number of assists since then, getting on the scoresheet is a confidence boost beyond the fact it was the winner against the league leaders.

Farke, speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post, was delighted with Rutter’s goal in wake of all the hard work he puts in for the team.

“I am delighted for him because he is working so hard for us,” the Leeds boss said after the game on Friday night.

“He’s great in his linking of the play and creating moments for teammates, with assists and the only thing we spoke about that he can improve is his goal tally.
