Stuttgart are now ready to beat Leeds United to the signing of Bayern Munich goalkeeper
That is according to Sky in Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, who reports Stuttgart have submitted a second loan offer of just under £900,000 to get the deal done.
Plettenberg also adds that Nubel is keen on making the move to Stuttgart, with Leeds now seemingly out of the running for his signature.
It became apparent towards the end of last week that remaining in the Bundesliga was Nubel’s preference, though there was still hope for Leeds after Stuttgart’s struggle to agree a deal
However, with a second offer having been submitted, it now appears they are confident to get their man on loan, despite Leeds’ desire to do a permanent deal.
Nubel had emerged as one of Leeds’ two main targets to strengthen their options between the sticks, which is the position which the Whites will reportedly target next after signing Ethan Ampadu.
Leeds have already lost Joel Robles while Illan Meslier is expected to follow, leaving Daniel Farke in desperate need of adding a new number one.
Karl Darlow is said to be the other goalkeeper on Leeds’ radar, though they will also face competition for his signature from Bournemouth.
The 32-year-old is available for £5 million but has held talks with the Cherries today, who can offer him Premier League football.
Leeds may have to move quickly now to secure Darlow with the Nubel deal all but over.
