Liverpool have reportedly held talks with the agent of Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard ahead of a potential move to Anfield in this summer’s transfer window.
The World Cup winner joined the Bavarians from Stuttgart in the summer of 2019 and has since featured in over 160 matches for the perennial champions of Germany, helping the club to four-straight Bundesliga titles.
The 27-year-old started 27 league matches for Thomas Tuchel‘s men this season, the most since his debut term at the Allianz Arena in which he made 31 in the Bundesliga.
According to Caught Offside, Liverpool are interested in luring Pavard to Merseyside this summer, with the player’s agent already having discussions with the Reds hierarchy over a potential deal.
The report claims that the Frenchman has informed Bayern of his desire to leave the club for pastures new – it is understood that Jurgen Klopp‘s men have a serious chance of securing his services.
It is also believed that Chelsea, Barcelona, AC Milan and Champions League finalists Inter Milan have been keen admirers of Pavard in the past, although Liverpool is currently viewed as a ‘hot candidate’ for the right-back.
