Christian Falk of Bild, reports that Liverpool are leading the race for Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard who is likely to leave the club in the summer.
The agents of Pavard have reportedly already held talks with Liverpool over a possible transfer of the 27-year-old. Â Chelsea, Barcelona, AC Milan and Inter Milan have all shown interest in Pavard at some point.
It was previously reported that Pavard could leave Bayern if they receive €30m as the defender would like to leave the club this summer, while his contract also expires in 2024. Pavard joined Bayern in 2019 from VfB Stuttgart for €35m.
At Liverpool, Pavard would be able to play in his preferred centre-back position while also offering depth at the right-back position. During his time at Bayern, Pavard has mainly been used as a right-back but with the arrival of Noussair Mazraoui and João Cancelo this season he has been used more as a centre-back.
