Breaking Deal:Liverpool looked set to sign ‘fantastic’ 22-year-old, super as star

Liverpool  overtaken by Bayern Munich in the race to sign French midfielder Khephren Thuram.

Throughout the summer so far, Thuram has looked likely to become a Liverpool player at some stage. In a report yesterday, Footmercato even claim that the 22-year-old was more or less ‘promised’ to join the Reds.

But with Liverpool signing Dominik Szoboszlai at the weekend, the French outlet suggest that the chances of that happening are now lessening.

That’s in part because Bayern Munich have reportedly made Thuram a top target. Bayern head coach Thomas Tuchel is said to be the driver behind the interest, suggesting his name to the leadership at the club.

Happy to appease Tuchel, Bayern are claimed to be ready to enter into talks with the France international’s agents. They reportedly know they’ll have to put up at least £43m for Thuram, but are said to be open to the idea of doing so.

Liverpool meanwhile are said to have ‘not yet gone on the offensive’ for the player. It’s claimed that for now they still lead the way, but Bayern could soon be the one’s in the driving seat. With OGC Nice still reportedly unwilling to sell Thuram though, neither could end up getting their man
