The Reds are looking to sign Leicester City’s Trey Nyoni and West Ham United’s Amara Nallo
Liverpool are hopeful of completing a deal for highly-rated Leicester City teenager Trey Nyoni.
The Reds want to bolster their Academy ranks with the signing of the midfielder, who turned 16 in June.
Nyoni broke into the Leicester under-18s side as a 15-year-old last season and made 13 appearances in the U18 Premier League South, while also featuring twice in the FA Youth Cup.
The youngster has already represented England at U16 level but also has Zimbabwe citizenship through his family
Liverpool are presently working through the step-by-step process required when signing a player of such a young age, but hope to have soon completed his signing as they strengthen their youth ranks.
The Reds are also in talks to sign 16-year-old West Ham United centre-back Amara Nallo, although that deal is not as advanced.
Liverpool have previously spent money to bring in a number of highly-rated youngsters into the Academy set-up.
Bobby Clark and Ben Doak, who both scored for the first team in their 4-0 friendly win over Leicester City in Singapore on Sunday, were bought from Newcastle United and Celtic for £1.5million and £600,000 respectively.
Stefan Bajcetic, who made his senior breakthrough last season, cost £220,000 from Celta Vigo while Calum Scalon, who also featured for Jurgen Klopp’s side at the weekend, was bought from Birmingham City for £400,000.
Kaide Gordon, closing on a return to full training after 18 months out, was signed from Derby County for a fee that may rise to £3m.
