Liverpool finally seal €60 million for Federico Chiesa, deal..

Merseyside outlet Paisley Gates reports that Liverpool can now sign Federico Chiesa for €60 million after Juventus slashed €40 million from their original asking price. The 25-year-old attacker was of interest to Jurgen Klopp, but the Reds manager will not prioritise a move for another attacker over a new midfielder.

Liverpool have come under pressure in recent weeks to replace some of their experienced stars who left for the riches of Saudi Arabia. Fabinho and Jordan Henderson left the club to join middle eastern clubs, and Jurgen Klopp remains keen to bring in replacements.

Whether they sign multiple midfielders remains the question, but they surely need at least one top-quality player. They have so far shown an unwillingness to pay Romeo Lavia’s asking price, so there are question marks over whether that deal would happen.

Some other targets are in mind, but the Belgian remains Klopp’s ideal choice. The German might also look for a central defender if there’s still time and money. Hence, bringing in a new attacker is not part of their current plans despite previous interest in Federico Chiesa.

Klopp 'very intrigued' by Juventus winger as Newcastle get 'aroused' by Liverpool target

The 25-year-old attacker prefers a move to Liverpool and could leave Juventus if clubs pay decent money for the Italian winger. The Bianconeri are strapped for cash in this window and may have to sell some of their prized assets to balance the books.

As per the same outlet, Juventus originally wanted €50-€60 million for Chiesa, but now they are ready to make concessions. The Serie A giants are willing to slash €20 million from their asking price and make Chiesa available for €40 million.

There’s mention of Liverpool’s interest, which the outlet insists has come from the Italian media. It may seem like a ploy from agents to keep liking the 25-year-old attacker with a move to Merseyside, who have admired the winger before.

Liverpool had previously valued Chiesa at €40 million and were unprepared to pay more. Hence, any move now would make sense, but Klopp may not prioritise a transfer. The Reds have enough depth in the wide areas, so signing the 25-year-old attacker would seem pointless.

Moreover, his recent injury record has yet to see the winger recover his original flow, and hence there are question marks over his talent. So there are growing doubts about whether Liverpool would initiate talks for this particular transfer in this window
