FC Barcelona continue to suggest that their priorities lie in acquiring new talents and registering current ones to reinforce their side for the upcoming season. This also includes retaining their current crop of talented players that have managed to aid the club in collecting the La Liga and Spanish Super Cup titles.
Jules Kounde, 24 years old, has been at the heart of many of Barcelona’s strongest defensive performances this season under Xavi Hernandez. The Frenchman continues to prove his worth to both coach and club with his quality and dependable versatility always on display. However, sailings may not be quite as smooth as they seem to be.
As reported by Mundo Deportivo previously, the player had asked and confronted the coach and related personnel regarding keeping an eye out for any and all potential offers that come their way that hope to acquire the Frenchman or even as much as inquire about him.
Yet, in the most recent of updates, the player himself denied all such rumors and clarified publicly through his Twitter handle that he never asked for anything close to a transfer.
New revelations come from the English source “The Mirror”, which suggests that the most recent of interested parties in Jules Kounde is none other than Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool. Primarily having been chased by Chelsea for a majority of the last season only to end up heading to Barcelona, the Reds of Merseyside now join the parade.
According to the report, they are willing to pay up close to around €60 million for the services of the Frenchman, who Barcelona themselves paid €62 million to Sevilla for in 2022, as is understood by Mundo Deportivo.
