Aston Villa’s Boubacar Kamara is on “the list” of midfield transfer targets for Liverpool, it has been claimed.
The Frenchman arrived at Villa Park from Marseille last summer and quickly became a mainstay at the h
eart of the Villans team, making 26 appearances across all competitions in 2022.23.
And his performance are said to have attracted admiring glances from Anfield, according to the Athletic.
Liverpool are reportedly looking at Southampton’s Romeo Lavia as their main midfield target, but
Kamara has now emerged as a potential alternative.
The report claims Jurgen Klopp’s recruitment team are “hard at work identifying the best candidates to target for the No 6 role”. It is claimed Kamara is among them, alongside Lavia and the likes of Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips and Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch.
Liverpool will be keen to strengthen midfield this summer with captain Jordan Henderson completing a move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq on Thursday. However, having arrived at B6 just last summer, Kamara is likely to require a hefty transfer fee from any club which wishes to sign the 23-year-old before the transfer window closes in September.
