Liverpool transfer news: Jürgen Klopp’s side has supposedly got a ‘full agreement’ for one midfielder, but PSG and others could constitute big competition for another.
Liverpool has plenty to think about this summer and both Jürgen Klopp and Jörg Schmadtke will be working hard behind the scenes to get things moving ahead of pre-season.
In an ideal world, by the time pre-season kicks off, Liverpool will have bought at least three players and those new arrivals can then bed in with their teammates for as long a time as possible. Liverpool’s pre-season will begin on July 8, which is just 36 days away.
Liverpool needs to sign at least a couple of players for the center of the pitch by the time the season begins, and in an ideal world, would also have a new defender to add to Klopp’s ranks.

Alexis Mac Allister (Brighton)
Liverpool wants to sign Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton this summer and the Reds have a ‘full agreement’ to sign the 24-year-old, according to Football Insider, after activating his release clause.
It is not clear exactly what the exit clause constitutes, with David Ornstein reporting in The Athletic last month that there was some form of ‘mechanism’ but that it wasn’t a typical release clause.
It does feel like a move for Mac Allister is very possible, but quite whether it is actually done yet might be a stretch. Sky Sports reported in May that Brighton wants $88m (£70m/€82m) for the Argentine.
Liverpool.com says: Mac Allister would be an excellent start to the summer for Liverpool in terms of incomings. He won’t solve all of Klopp’s problems but he is versatile enough to slot into a variety of roles and would instantly provide an upgrade
