Micky van de Ven’s agent opens up on Liverpool links as price announced
Micky van de Ven’s agent has revealed several clubs are interested in signing his client in the summer window as speculation continues to mount that the defender is linked with a move to Liverpool.
As noted, the Reds are targeting a left centre-back this summer. An addition in defense would give them competition and cover for Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip in that position.
One player linked with a move to Anfield is van de Ven, having enjoyed a successful season at VfL Wolfsburg in Germany. The 22-year-old made 36 appearances for the German giants last season – the club which new Reds sporting director Jörg Schmadtke is yet to leave.
The European U21 Championship starts on Wednesday in Romania and Georgia. Liverpool fans will be keeping tabs on a number of players who could join the Reds before the summer ends.
With Alexis Mac Allister the first signing in a long-awaited midfield overhaul, French duo Khephren Thuram and Manu Kone, Dutchman Ryan Gravenberch and Spaniard Gabri Veiga are all on Liverpool’s radar as they reflect to their next move in the market.
With the Reds also considering signing a new left centre-back if possible, Dutchman Micky van de Ven continues to be linked with a move to Anfield, while England’s Levi Colwill also has his admirers on the Merseyside red side – following his superb loan spell at Brighton.

Micky van de Ven’s agent, who has been linked with a move to Liverpool this summer, has opened up about the VfL Wolfsburg defender’s future
Micky van de Ven’s agent has revealed several clubs are interested in signing his client this summer as speculation continues to mount that the defender is linked with a move to Liverpool. ECHO reported earlier this month that the Reds had targeted a left-of-center this summer. An addition to the back would provide competition and cover for Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip.
One player linked to a move to Anfield is Van de Ven, who enjoyed a successful season with VfL Wolfsburg in Germany. The 22-year-old made 36 appearances for the German giants last season, the club new Reds sporting director Jorg Schmadtke left from earlier this year.
And now Van de Ven’s agent Jose Fortes Rodriguez has spoken to WAZ in Germany about his client and his words will encourage Liverpool that a deal to sign the centre-back is possible this summer. He said: “Micky has had a fantastic season. Many clubs are interested. It would be silly to say now that he will definitely stay at Wolfsburg. Anything can happen this summer.
A player like Micky, who has developed so well, calls from clubs come automatically. I am asked: what is the situation? Do we have a chance?
“As I said, anything can happen this summer. He could leave. But if the right club doesn’t arrive, why shouldn’t Micky stay at Wolfsburg?”
WAZ say Wolfsburg are “cool” with speculation Van de Ven recently extended his contract until 2027, and they have yet to receive an offer for his services. And they add that the player would not be sold this summer for less than 30 million euros.
ECHO also understands that several midfielders are being considered as Jurgen Klopp and sporting director Schmadtke are eyeing an engine room expansion following the arrival of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton & Hove Albion.
