Liverpool ace Fabinho has raised a Reds transfer issue by admitting his team need half a dozen midfielders because of the way they play. Fabinho came under fire for his underwhelming form last season but now has fellow midfielders Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai as team-mates at Anfield after club chiefs shelled out a combined total of nearly £100million to take the duo to the north west.
Fabinho has played an important role under Jurgen Klopp since joining Liverpool from Monaco five years ago. But last season he struggled to live up to his usual standards, as did Jordan Henderson and Thiago, as the Merseyside giants finished fifth in the Premier League and exited the cup competitions in the early rounds

Klopp has attempted to address his side’s midfield woes by stumping up £35m to prise Mac Allister away from Brighton and shelling out £60m to sign Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig. But the Reds may delve back into the transfer market as they are also keen to snap-up Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia ahead of the new campaign. And Fabinho’s comments illustrate why Klopp needs so many midfielders.
