Giles, 23, who played a pivotal role in Middlesbrough’s play-off campaign with his 11 assists, is making a switch from his boyhood club, Wolverhampton Wanderers, for an undisclosed fee.
Giles, who was handed his senior debut by Luton Town boss Rob Edwards, expressed excitement at joining the Premier League club.
He described the move as a “new beginning” and a “new chapter” in his career.
I’ve had a lot of loans and I feel those experiences have made me the player and the person I am today,” Giles shared during his first interview as a Luton player.
Edwards lauded Giles as an “exciting signing,” praising his skills and experience gained from several loan spells.
The Town boss also emphasized Giles’ speed and his ability to deliver quality crosses while running at full pace.
“He’s shown he’s a very, very good Championship player who is now hungry to show what he can do in the Premier League,” Edwards stated.
Born in Telford in January 2000, Giles began his football journey with Wolves and made a significant impression, earning the title of Academy Player of the Year in 2018.
His first taste of senior football came when he joined hometown club AFC Telford on loan in 2018 under Edwards, contributing two goals and seven assists in nine matches.
In subsequent seasons, Giles honed his skills at clubs like Shrewsbury, Coventry, Rotherham, Cardiff, and Blackburn.
His most impactful season so far was the 2021/22 campaign when he played 48 matches on loan at Middlesbrough, earning plaudits for his performance on the left flank.
