Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have reportedly received a boost in their quest to sign Kalvin Phillips from Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
The report claimed that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp personally wants the former Leeds United midfielder at Elland Road.
The Merseyside club are reportedly willing to pay £35 million for the £160,000-a-week (SalarySport) England international.
Newcastle United and West Ham United have also been linked with the former Leeds star in recent weeks.
And now The Daily Mail are reporting that City would listen to offers for Phillips despite signing him from Leeds only in the summer of 2022.
The report has added that the 27-year-old midfielder wants to stay and prove himself for the treble winners.
Liverpool should bid for Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips

That City are willing to listen to offers for the 27-year-old suggests that there is an opening for Liverpool.
The Premier League champions sold Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko to Arsenal last summer, which means that City could sell Phillips to Liverpool.
While Liverpool have already signed Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer transfer window, there is still room for one or two more quality midfielders
