Leeds United attacker Wilfried Gnonto is not set for his Everton medical this weekend despite reports, according to Alan Myers.
The Sky Sports journalist reported on Saturday (19 August) that he does not think the Italian is done and dusted to join the Toffees.
No medical will take place on Sunday which means that Gnonto will go into next week as a Leeds player despite wanting to leave.
Via Twitter, Myers wrote, “I don’t think so,” in response to his medical being scheduled.
Keep him
Gnonto does not have any release clauses like some of the other Leeds players so this gives the club the chance to keep him.
He did not inform them of his intentions earlier and now cannot hold it against the club if they do not give him the move he wants.
If he refuses to train, Leeds can tell him that they will let him leave if Everton match their valuation and put a higher price tag on him.
He’s not handled himself in a professional manner so there is no reason for the Whites to give in to his wishes.
He needs to respect the team that’s paying his wages and not act like an outcast and get on with his job of representing the team.
Leeds also need to work on any incomings as this is not been a good window given how few new players have been signed.
