Medical due: Leicester City sing Man City defender which remains Nottingham Forest target and set medicals

Latest Leicester City news from LeicestershireLive as reported Foxes target Taylor Harwood-Bellis is linked with a move from Manchester City to Nottingham Forest

Leicester City-linked Taylor Harwood-Bellis has emerged as a potential target for Nottingham Forest who are said to have “switched” attention towards the Manchester City defender.

The 21-year-old has been linked with the Foxes since November last year when the young centre-back was on loan at Burnley. Harwood-Bellis impressed in the Championship, helping the Clarets win the title and secure a place in the Premier League, where they kicked off the new campaign at home to Man City in a 3-0 defeat.

Harwood-Bellis also captained the England team that won the Under-21 European Championships this summer. Lee Carsley’s team beat Spain 1-0 in Georgia to lift the Young Lions’ first Euros title in 39 years.

And according to The Sun journalist Alan Nixon, Forest have refocused their transfer attention on the England youngster. City are said to want £15m for Harwood-Bellis, a fee which has reportedly put off Burnley, West Ham, Fulham and Leeds.

Reports in July claimed that Forest were “leading the chase” to sign Harwood-Bellis this summer but speculation linking him with a move to the City Ground had gone quiet until now.

The Foxes have so far signed six players this summer. They include Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei on loan, winger Stephy Mavididi, goalkeeper Mads Hermansen and centre-back Callum Doyle on loan from Manchester City, as well as centre-back Conor Coady from Wolves and midfielder Harry Winks from Tottenham.
