Medical report: Lakers guard Gabe Vincent’s knee effusion is finally announced for surgery with PRP treatment.

Medical report Lakers guard Gabe Vincent’s knee effusion is finally announced for surgery with PRP treatment.

Lakers guard Gabe Vincent missed the last handful of games of the preseason with lower back tightness. Then, after playing a heavy dose of minutes in the regular season, he was ruled out for at least two weeks with what the team termed knee effusion.

A recent update on Vincent following that two-week period and has him set to miss at least another two weeks. Additionally, the club provided more information on his treatment as they said Vincent underwent a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy procedure as well.

In the following video, I explained Gabe’s knee effusion injury, his treatment including PRP and the potential timeline for Vincent moving forward.

Hopefully, the next update on Vincent’s return is a positive one as these injuries truly are day-to-day and it all depends on how the knee is responding to treatment and increases in rehab intensity.

Considering how early it is in the season, however, it behooves the Lakers medical staff to be conservative to make sure this isn’t something that pops up again later on this season
