Ethan Horvath, the goalkeeper for Nottingham Forest, is scheduled to have a medical at Cardiff City prior to a permanent transfer, sources have informed Football Insider.
Having played no games this season, the 28-year-old has descended in the City Ground hierarchy.
Despite his stellar loan season at Luton Town last season, where he helped the team win promotion to the Premier League, he was not part of current Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo’s or former Forest boss Steve Cooper’s plans.
The summer signing Odysseas Vlachodimos replaced the American in Forest’s matchday squad for the team’s first four Premier League games.
In order to address their goalkeeping problems, Forest is reportedly planning a late move for Strasbourg goalkeeper Matz Sels, according to sources who spoke with Football Insider on February 1.
Horvath joined Forest from Club Brugge in 2021, but in his two and a half seasons, he only made 11 appearances in league play.
Additionally, Forest and Sheffield United have reached an agreement for Joe Worrall to spend the rest of the season on loan. As Football Insider reported on February 1, Worrall will now be attending a medical with the Blades.
After losing 2-1 to Arsenal on Tuesday, January 30, Forest is ranked 16th in the Premier League, while Cardiff is ranked 14th in the Championship following their loss to Plymouth Argyle.
On Sunday afternoon, February 4, the Reds will travel to play Bournemouth, while the Blues will host Watford at Vicarage Road.
