Daniel Farke isn’t nearly finished when it comes to transfer business at Elland Road, and his attack has seen major upheaval lately.
The main issue for him to resolve is the striker position, with his current options either not suited to the role or not fit.
Joel Piroe to Leeds?
Journalist Alan Nixon has reported that Leeds are ready to pay £75million to sign Swansea City star Joel Piroe this week, as they aim to turn the screw on new signings.
The Dutchman is into the final year of his contract in South Wales and could be looking to leave if the right offer is made, having enjoyed life in the Championship thus far, scoring 19 last season.
So far this season, Piroe has featured four times under Michael Duff, scoring twice, both of which coming against Northampton Town in the EFL Cup.
Could Leeds sign Piroe?
The report also claims that other sides have dropped out of the race to sign the Swansea forward, while Leeds remain desperate to bring him in before the end of the summer window.
Swansea have already strengthened in attack this summer with the arrivals of Jerry Yates and Mykola Kukharevych previously.
Leeds have obviously come into a substantial windfall lately with the sale of Tyler Adams to Bournemouth for £23million.
If we can get Piroe for £75million or less, then we simply have to start getting our act together and sign him as soon as possible.
We need a striker that is capable of not only scoring goals from anywhere, but also someone who can link the play and drop deep if needed.
Piroe might not be stretching the line in behind, but we don’t really need him to with the pace behind him in attacking midfield.
