MEDICAL’S SET:Nottingham Forest Bid confirmed for word best defender as he sign long time contract to activate their team in the season…

The latest Nottingham Forest transfer news from NottinghamshireLive as the Reds have been linked with a number of players over the past few days.

Nottingham Forest will hope to be active in the two-and-a-half weeks remaining of the summer transfer window.

Steve Cooper has so far added three new players to his Forest squad. Ola Aina signed on a free transfer, while Anthony Elanga and Matt Turner signed from Manchester United and Arsenal respectively

All three made their debuts in the opening weekend against Arsenal. Elanga provided an assist for Taiwo Awoniyi’s goal to half the deficit after coming on as a substitute.

But will there be any more players ready to make their debuts when Forest are back in action next weekend against Sheffield United? Here’s a look at the latest news and rumours around the City Ground, some may need to be taken with a pinch of salt.

Sangare bid confirmed

Nottingham Forest have seen a bid for PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ibrahim Sangare rejected this summer, according to those close to the player .

Sangare emerged as a top target for Steve Cooper this summer. The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time.

According to ESPN Netherlands , Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Paris Saint Germain are three of the other clubs interested in the player. PSV are said to be demanding a fee of around €37 million (£32m).

Reds ‘lead’ £15m race

Nottingham Forest are said to be pushing to sign Brazilian forward Matheus Nascimento in a £15m deal.

The Reds were linked with the 19-year-old Botafogo player earlier this summer, but it is understood he stalled on a move to the City Ground .

The Sun’s Alan Nixon claims Forest “lead the race” to sign the teenager before the transfer window closes, adding the club’s plan may be to loan him to Olympiacos unless Nascimento demands to play Premier League football.

Serie A midfielder linked

Nottingham Forest “would like to recruit” Bologna midfielder Jerdy Schouten , it is claimed.

The 26-year-old made 36 appearances across all competitions for the Serie A side last season, providing three assists in all competitions for the Italian team.

Forest are said to be interested in Schouten according to claims by Dutch journalist Rik Elfrink . However, it is claimed that they face potential competition from AC Milan and PSV Eindhoven.

A possible transfer to the City Ground could also prove difficult with the player said to favour a move back to his native Netherlands at PSV.

Scarpa exit ‘close’

Nottingham Forest midfielder Gustavo Scarpa is ‘close’ to completing a transfer to Olympiacos , according to reports in Greece.

The Brazilian arrived on a free transfer from Palmeiras in January and subsequently made 10 appearances in all competitions, but his last minutes came in a 2-1 loss to Leeds United in April.

He wasn’t included in the Forest squad for Saturday’s 2-1 loss at Arsenal, their opening game of the new Premier League campaign, after returning to training in pre-season. And it now seems his future may be away from the City Ground .

Olympiacos, who are also owned by Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis , are showing ‘great interest’ in Scarpa, according to SPORTtime . The Greek side were said to be interested in the player before he moved to Forest.

Nottingham Forest transfer target Dean Henderson could be rushed back into the Manchester United squad .

The Reds are hoping to clinch a deal for goalkeeper Henderson before the transfer window closes after he enjoyed a successful loan at the City Ground from Old Trafford last season.

But they may be forced to wait until the very end of the transfer window because an injury situation at United could lead to manager Erik ten Hag needing Henderson in his squad in the opening weeks of the new season.
