Mets officially Announced their decision to Reunite with Veteran after a Record

Before Opening Day, might there be a get-together in New York?

It’s possible that the New York Mets will add someone in the near future.

Although a few right-handed batters have been linked to New York, the team hasn’t decided to move at this time. Although there have been many rumors that J.D. Martinez would be a possibility for the team, it’s unclear how serious the discussions are.

Veteran utility player J.D. Davis has also surfaced as a potential candidate recently. Having played with the Mets for more than three years, he was recently released by the San Francisco Giants.

Though it’s anticipated that Brett Baty and Mark Vientos will play bigger roles in 2024, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that the team is apparently displaying “real interest” in a reunion with Davis.

“Talk to a Mets official and they will publicly praise the work of Brett Baty and Mark Vientos,” Sherman stated. “Whether they add someone late or not, they will both claim that they are pulling the squad out of spring training. And yet, they’re at least thinking about adding something later.
