Following the Mets’ 7-6 victory at Clover Park, the left-hander remarked, “This is a special time to be working on something.” “Getting into a few situations where you can execute your pitches and get ground balls is really good.”

In four and a half innings, he gave up six runs (four earned) on eight hits and one walk. Quintana did not make it through the fifth as many pitches as he had wanted, and was lifted at 71.

Manager Carlos Mendoza stated, “I thought as the game went on he got better. He got behind in counts and got hit.” “It was a good workday.”
