breaking news: Miami Heat in Tight Trade Race to finalize their deal for Big-Name East Point Guard

In case you missed it, the Milwaukee Bucks and Miami Heat squared off for Damian Lillard’s services this summer. The Bucks managed to snatch the seven-time All-Star from Miami, even though Miami had been Dame’s top choice ever since he declared his intention to leave the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Bucks and the Heat seem to be vying for the services of another elite point guard. You can be certain that Miami is still bitter about their disastrous attempt to acquire Dame Lillard at this point.

Dejounte Murray, the point guard for the Atlanta Hawks, is reportedly on the Bucks’ radar. As the February deadline draws near, Milwaukee has reportedly shown interest in a number of players, including Murray, who is another star.

According to recent reports from NBA insider Chris Haynes, the Bucks are among the teams expressing interest in the 6-foot-5 combo guard:

However, given Milwaukee’s asset shortage, it’s unclear what kind of trade package they could come up with to try and convince the Hawks to let go of Murray.

Murray is attracting interest from more teams than just the Bucks, as Haynes mentioned. The Heat are another team that may be considering a move for the 27-year-old, according to a number of reports. Along with a few future draft picks, Kyle Lowry is the player who is reportedly the focal point of a possible trade package.

However, contradictory reports suggest that the Heat are not currently interested in Murray:

It seems like the Heat might be priced out of the Dejounte Murray trade race, just like the Bucks.

For the time being, it looks like Miami and Milwaukee will not engage in another duel.
