A player who has been connected to the Milwaukee Bucks on several occasions in recent months is combo guard Alex Caruso of the Chicago Bulls. It’s no secret that with Jrue Holiday leaving in the summer, Milwaukee’s backcourt could use an improvement on defense, and some experts think Caruso is the man for the job.
However, the 29-year-old’s path to the Bucks is unclear. Milwaukee will face competition from a few other teams that might be interested in Caruso if the Bulls decide to put him up for trade. The Los Angeles Lakers will probably be one of those teams.
Caruso, though, will be more valuable to the Bucks because of his defensive skills. Damian Lillard’s replacement for Jrue Holiday was a huge offensive improvement, but the Bucks’ backcourt has struggled defensively this year as well.
Caruso might be a terrific fit for the Bucks even though he isn’t exactly a Defensive Player of the Year contender. Nevertheless, the question remains whether Milwaukee possesses sufficient resources to persuade Chicago to sever ties with Caruso.
